All the leather used is cowhide. The red-brown leather on the front has a firm texture and a glossy sheen. The Walpier leather used for the lining is tanned with tannins and has a high density, making it a firm leather, but it softens with use. The Ortega-style fabric section has a separate leather base underneath to match the height of the cut-out leather on the front. Since the fabric is navy, the musical notes are also navy. The design of the musical notes has been slightly enlarged from this time. The thread is black #20 and uses a single stitch.
