This is a genuine lacquerware piece from Kawakami Shitsuhodo, an established Kyoto lacquerware store founded in 1856. Made in Yamanaka-nuri by the Oshima Lacquer Studio, it is crafted from natural Japanese horse chestnut wood, hollowed out and painted with black and red lacquer depicting chrysanthemums. How about using it as a serving dish for sweets or other dishes? This is a new, unused item that has been stored in its original box. The dish is in excellent condition, with no scratches, stains, or cloudiness. The original box has some age-related stains.
