Purchased from a handmade artist at an event. The shape isn't stiff, so I don't think it will hurt children. However, it's not suitable for those who want a more structured feel. In the fourth photo, the elastic is a bit loose. I used it on my 1-year-old daughter. Her head is on the larger side, so it was a tight fit when she turned two.
