This is a Kyoto Yuzen furisode (long-sleeved kimono) made for my mother about 45 years ago by my grandmother at a local Kyoto-dyed kimono shop. Genuine silk, hand-stencil dyeing, Yuzen dyeing, hand embroidery, phoenix, butterflies, Showa retro. My mother wore it twice, and my daughter (me) wore it twice, about 15 years ago for my coming-of-age ceremony and a relative's wedding. It's a very gorgeous and cute furisode. In 2023, I asked Naooshiya, a stain removal specialist in Kyoto City, to take care of it. Please check images 18 and 19. - The outer fabric and lining of the furisode were washed and disinfected with far-infrared rays, and then the garment was disassembled and finished by stretching the wrinkles with hot water. Therefore, it is in the state of a disassembled and unstitched bolt of fabric. Images 1-12 show the current state of the disassembled and unstitched fabric. Some of the gold and silver leaf is peeling off. Images 9 and 10 are the lining. Images 13-17 are photos from my coming-of-age ceremony and when I wore the furisode. At that time, I was 157cm tall and weighed about 48kg. My mother and I have cherished this, but my child is a son, so a furisode is not relevant...(´`*) I'm listing it because I would be happy if it could go to someone who likes it, rather than having it sleep in the chest of drawers. It cost about 20,000 yen to have it washed, etc., and to have it in the state of a disassembled bolt of fabric. There is no musty smell or stickiness, and the texture is good, but it is old, so there are some stains. There is some peeling of gold and silver leaf in places. There are no moth-eaten holes or tears, but because it is in the state of a bolt of fabric, I haven't checked everything by spreading it out, so please understand that there may be oversights. Please refrain from purchasing if you are sensitive to such things. The lining has been disposed of. Since it is in the state of a bolt of fabric, it is also recommended for Shichi-Go-San (Seven-Five-Three) costumes, tsumami zaiku (folded fabric crafts), Japanese-style hair accessories, and kimono remakes (^^*)
