I was captivated by the sound and purchased this about 5-6 years ago. The large size produces pleasant low tones. I kept it on a shelf in the living room and cleaned it regularly. I believe it's still in good condition. It comes with a stand and a pair of mallets. This iron percussion instrument was created by artist Teppei Saito and is characterized by its mystical and soothing sound, reminiscent of ripples spreading on water. Inspired by the sound of a suikinkutsu, it is made by inserting slits into an iron plate. The pitch and resonance of the sound change depending on where it is struck and the shape of the slits, producing a complex sound rich in overtones and the lingering resonance unique to metal.
