I filled the bathtub with water to check for leaks, and it was fine. However, it might be different when actually fishing, so I cannot guarantee it 100%. There was no stickiness, fraying, or tears. The slightly brown stains on the inside are glue marks from the manufacturing process. I haven't gone fishing in the middle of summer. In the spring, I wear Patagonia Capilene underneath, so I don't wear them directly on my skin. I've only used them a few times. The waist is 35cm (70cm) when laid flat, and about 44cm (88cm) when stretched to the maximum. For reference, my waist is 74cm and there's plenty of room. It can be securely fastened with a very strong Velcro (magic tape).
