Due to the layer of slip, it's prone to water absorption when submerged and changes color over time. Recommended for those who enjoy "nurturing" their tableware and appreciating the changes. We use Kohiki plates in the dishwasher, microwave, and frequently, but... Kohiki does tend to be more delicate than other ceramics due to the thicker clay layer. Hand washing is recommended if you're concerned. (However, they don't break easily. I think it's a good opportunity to experience Kintsugi (gold repair), so you can enjoy it with a relaxed attitude.) I believed it was a [sauce server], but there's a tea strainer-like part inside! Maybe it's a tea pot. I prefer hot tea, so I probably won't use it.
