It's like a dream. The previously released 1973 performance with Arthaus NHK was already phenomenal, but Mravinsky is truly incredible. I'm astonished by this 1977 performance as well. From the opening, powerful timpani strike of *Die Meistersinger*, I was completely captivated, feeling as if I were there in the concert hall. The Brahms is a masterpiece among his many recordings, and I'm simply stunned by the superhuman intensity of Mravinsky and the Leningrad Philharmonic. Includes Japanese commentary.
