This is a backpack pad designed to keep the space between a child's back and their often-hot backpack comfortable. This one features a floral pattern on the main body with light blue bias tape. The honeycomb-like three-dimensional structure of the fabric allows for airflow, preventing stickiness, and provides excellent cushioning. Made with two layers of this fabric, it's not flimsy, but durable and fluffy. It's easily attached with elastic and hooks. It can be attached to backpacks without a bottom rim and to larger A4-size compatible backpacks. Please check the size in the images before purchasing. My daughter, who started first grade, developed bruises near her shoulder straps, so I initially made this to improve the cushioning on her back. It has two pockets, and we use the top pocket to hold folded quilt batting to prevent the shoulder straps from directly contacting her. She says it doesn't hurt anymore! and uses the backpack pad every day for school. In the warmer seasons, you can put a non-freezing type of ice pack in the bottom pocket. (The ice pack in the photo is 10cm tall x 16cm wide x 1.5cm thick and weighs 150g. If you would like to include an ice pack, it will be sold for 450 yen.
