This is fabric from a silk haori that has been taken apart for washing. The base color is not white, but a cream color close to beige. The contrast with the purple cloud shapes is striking. Various motifs such as pine, bamboo, plum blossoms, paulownia flowers, and bellflowers are depicted in a variety of colors. There are stains near the edges of the fabric and the selvedge.
