It has a wool lining that extends to the cuffs, so those living in areas where the minimum temperature does not drop below freezing can wear it in mid-winter. (I have worn it in mid-winter.) The lining can be removed, so it can be worn until spring. I think it's a versatile coat. There are no tears or stains, but because I wore it with affection, there is some wear and tear on the cuffs and collar due to the material. Please understand this before purchasing.
