This is a handmade sushi rice tub from Nanbu Okemasa in Iwate. I ordered this custom-made tub on-site some time ago and had it specially made. I waited several months for it to be shipped to me. Diameter: 39.2 cm Inner diameter: 36.2 cm Height: 10 cm The wooden frame is a solid 1.5 cm thick, and the entire tub is made of high-quality materials, giving it a substantial and weighty feel. The wood used is Yoshino cedar from Nara Prefecture. Instead of the usual copper bands, I had it made with bamboo bands, and a lid was also included. When you open the lid, a pleasant aroma of wood wafts out. The bottom is securely fitted with bamboo around the edges where it meets the walls. I love this tub very much, but I have no plans to use it, and I believe that tools should be used. Therefore, I have decided to let it go. If anyone would like to cherish and use it, please consider purchasing it. There is a scratch on the wooden part and a slight bamboo splinter, both of which occurred during the attachment of the bamboo bands. Please take a look at the photos and understand this before purchasing. An instruction manual for care is included. The original box it was shipped in is no longer available, so I will use a recycled box for shipping.
