This is a bolt of hand-woven Nagoya obi from Hakata. It is an old item. It is woven with a satin weave, creating a raised pattern. Zenzaburo Ogawa, a Living National Treasure, once hand-wove at Matsui. There are similar works to this by Mr. Ogawa. There are some areas of discoloration and stains on this old item. See images 9 and 10, and there are others. I don't think they are very noticeable. Material: 100% silk. Width: 30.5cm. Length: 4.75m. When folded over and finished for the otaiko style, the finished size will be 3.60m.
