Kiriyag (Suizan Kobo) is a kimono manufacturing company in Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture, founded in the Kanei era of the Edo period. It is a workshop that creates "Tsujigahana" kimonos. When the fifth generation, Kyuhei, opened the workshop in the Meiji era, he chose the name "Suizan" (Green Mountain) for his art name, inspired by the beautiful scenery of the mountains of Tokamachi, which were a deep green, and the clear water. He named his creative space "Suizan Kobo" (Green Mountain Workshop).
