Thank you for viewing! I made reversible placemats using Japanese-style cat fabric. There are four placemats. The cat pattern fabric is new. It's a sturdy 100% cotton, Southern Cross weave fabric with a Japanese-style purple background and black cats. The purple color is closest to photo 1, but in reality, it's a more beautiful, even color. The other side uses fabric purchased from a recycled kimono shop. It wasn't a very old kimono and was in good condition. I hand-washed it and ironed it before making the placemats. It's a silk (I think) tsumugi weave with a gray background and a kumotori pattern, which gives it a modern feel. Size: Length: Approximately 26cm Width: Approximately 34cm *There may be some variation. *I tested how it would wash on one of my own, as it's likely silk. I put it in a laundry net and washed it normally, smoothing out the wrinkles as usual, and hung it to dry. It didn't shrink, and the wrinkles were similar to those that appear on cotton products.
