This is for a YAMAHA Silent Brass tuba. One of the three fasteners that secure the mute to the bell is broken. (Photos included) I've put the broken pieces in a bag, so you should be able to fix it with glue. I recommend rubber-based glue. Instant glue might peel off since it's an area that experiences pressure. You can still use it normally without fixing it. (I was too lazy to fix it myself and just used it as is.) I also didn't really understand how the Silent Brass sounded, so I can't tell if the sound quality has deteriorated or if it was always like that. However, I was able to hear the tuba sound through the headphones while using it, so I think there's no problem. I could also adjust the volume. (Of course, it sounds completely different from the natural sound! Don't expect it to sound the same as playing live. However, it's probably closer to the actual sound than playing with a mute. It's fun for playing along with music. It has various features like echo.) The mute performance is not a problem. It feels a bit resistant. Personally, I didn't mind it that much. I think it's a previous generation model. I bought it used, so I don't know the details. I was also playing in a detached house, and I didn't have any trouble with the neighbors.
