It is a tribal rug made from the surface of a saddlebag called a "khorjin," which was originally carried on camels. Larger than a typical khorjin by two sizes, it is believed to have been a bag for storing household items. Perhaps a custom for household safety, the pattern with an eight-pointed star in the center seems to be the mainstream design. Its size makes it suitable for laying on the floor, and its easy-to-handle size makes it a delightful accent rug. As a vintage rug, it is 50 years old, but being originally a bag, it doesn't show much wear. There are no noticeable stains or damage, and no repairs are visible, making it in good condition.
