The B-10 is a cloth flight jacket officially adopted by the U.S. Army Air Forces on July 22, 1943, as a substitute for leather flight jackets. During World War II, the U.S. military, suffering from a severe shortage of leather, developed flight jackets using cotton twill, which allowed for mass production. The lining uses alpaca mohair wool pile, which, compared to sheepskin, is less bulky and has the advantage of being lightweight and highly insulating. Overall, there is fading, but it has a nice, worn-in feel.
