This is a small, dyed porcelain dish purchased from an antique shop. I was fond of the round windows in the center, and that's why I brought it home. Each round window features pine, bamboo, and plum. They are stylized and adorable. As some of you may have noticed, there is a high proportion of bamboo. This likely signifies abundance. Inside the petal-shaped rim, there is a thunder pattern. It is very beautifully drawn. Normally, the lines would be distorted, but they are drawn straight. Also, the lines between the center and the rim are drawn to match the shape. You can tell that this is a high-quality item that took a considerable amount of effort. I was told that it dates from the Meiji to Taisho periods. It was an era that reconstructed tradition with bold interpretations. It's still relatively inexpensive to purchase, so it's recommended for collecting. There is a crack on the rim.
