A collection of works by Michael Kenna, a British photographer residing in the United States. Abruzzo, located in southern Italy, is known as the "green state of Europe" as over a third of the region is designated as natural reserves, including national parks. It boasts the highest biodiversity index in Europe and is recognized as one of the most floristically rich places in the world. In much of the world today, cultural uniqueness is being lost due to easy communication methods and globalization. The author found this uniqueness in Abruzzo and photographed medieval ruins, ancient villages, and the richly fertile countryside sustained by traditional farming. This book was published in conjunction with an exhibition held in July 2017 at the Loreto Aprutino Museum in Italy. It consists of 65 photographs from the series, which are being published for the first time, and includes an essay by curator Vincenzo de Pompeis. First edition limited to 500 copies.
