Batteries will be removed before shipping. Since there are some valuable items included, the buyer can decide whether or not to reset it. It was only used indoors and not carried around. It was only taken out for one day in a cover to get the logo from the "Great Tamagotchi Exhibition." There may be some minor scratches from use, but they are not noticeable.
