There are no chips or cracks, and I think it can still be used. All of the works by Kobo Coqu are such vessels. ◆Yukiko Shibahara was born in Osaka. In 2001, she apprenticed under Osamu Makiya at the Yamayaki Kitagama kiln in Yomitan Village, Okinawa Prefecture. She was appointed factory manager at Kitagama, acquiring solid techniques and traditional methods. Later, in 2010, she established "Kobo Coqu" in Yomitan Village. Coqu is named by reversing Yukiko's name. Shibahara's works inherit the strength of Okinawan pottery "Yachimun" while pursuing the gentleness and ease of use unique to female artists. Her style is very simple and blends into any space, regardless of whether it's Japanese or Western. Her meticulous work is highly regarded, and she is currently a popular artist among young Okinawan ceramic artists. Each piece is handmade, so the patterns are different, and there are subtle flavors and individual shapes. Please understand the characteristics of pottery before purchasing.
