The continuous pattern applied around the body, combined with the undulating form, is highly decorative. The yellow Seto-style glaze, the brownish body, and the overlapping glaze pools create a powerful landscape typical of Oribe ware. The glaze flow and pooling on the rim are also noteworthy, giving it a presence that differs from mass-produced tea ceremony utensils, and feels like a work by an artist.
