This is an unused, anodized aluminum canteen, likely from the Showa era (1945-1964), or possibly even earlier. It has the "Taiko" mark on it. Could this be the manufacturer's mark from back then? It's a piece from 70-80 years ago, after all. The original cork stopper had deteriorated, so I've replaced it with a similarly sized silicone stopper. The aluminum fitting on the head of the silicone stopper is the original. The strap was also discolored, so I've washed and cleaned it. As you can see from the comparison with the plastic bottle, it's a very cute, small size. I think a new one in this exquisite form and size is rare.
