It only sews straight stitches; there is no reverse mechanism. Please turn the fabric around for reverse stitching. The operation is smooth, and the motor is a reliable YDK. The serial number is difficult to read clearly, but it appears to be Y5859675. It is believed to be from the 1927 Scotland/Clydebank factory. The gold paint is well-preserved for its age. The slide plate has some scratches from rust removal, but it is an original part, so it has been left as is. The stand has been made in-house, and the machine has been oiled and cleaned to stabilize the stitching. The bobbin winder has been fitted with a new rubber band and works without any problems. The main parts are made of iron and are durable. How about using it for leathercraft? It can sew up to 4mm of soft leather.
