This is a vintage 1973 SG Special made at the Gibson Kalamazoo factory in the USA. It has a great crunch and is a rock and roll gear that doesn't get boomy even when distorted. It appears to be fully original, except for the missing selector knob. **Body** Total weight is approximately 3.2kg. The mahogany body is walnut-colored. It has become slightly darker due to aging. There are some dents and dings appropriate for its age, but there are no major scratches or damage to the wood. It's the type that uses an ABR-1 bridge, not a wide travel bridge. The metal parts show some tarnish, giving it a tasteful atmosphere. **Neck** The neck is made of 3-piece mahogany. It features a non-binding rosewood fingerboard with small block inlays. The original tuners function without much variation in winding. There are no cracks or repairs on the neck. The back of the neck has been well-used, and the finish has naturally worn off, providing a silky and comfortable feel without any stickiness. The nut and frets are original. The frets are originally wide and low, and have some wear, so those who are concerned may want to consider fret dressing or replacement. **Electronics** The pickups are original sticker-numbered mini-humbuckers. The pots were all manufactured in the 44th week of 1973. I believe the solder is original, but I have included images, so please judge based on the images. I have played it, so it produces sound. Currently, there is no noticeable crackling. **Negative Points** Crack in the truss rod cover screw hole. Vibration in the front pickup's escutcheon.
