These collectible items come in nearly 100 different variations, modeled after various professions, hobbies, and sports. Romel went out of business in the 1980s, and these figures are no longer produced, making them valuable as only existing items. The wood grain is beautiful, and the expressions and poses are charming. In the United States, they were sold at Abercrombie & Fitch in the 1960s, and were popular with fashion-conscious users.
