This is a beautiful piece with a translucent, jade-green color like a clear stream, fine crack patterns, and a gentle pattern of flying cranes, reminiscent of Goryeo celadon, which is different from Japanese and Chinese ceramics. Heoksan (Gakuzan), a Living National Treasure of Korea, was born in Seoul in 1922. He began making pottery after the age of 40, and while inheriting Korean traditions, he explored the essence of traditional Chinese and Japanese porcelain, and finally perfectly reproduced the jade color of Goryeo celadon, which had been discontinued in modern times.
