This is an antique four-piece bamboo fishing rod. It was used for fishing for Japanese seabream and large bottom-dwelling fish. While there are some scratches and dirt, it has been maintained and stored indoors. The total length is approximately 5.55 meters, and the closed length is approximately 1.75 meters. I used it for fishing trips to the Izu Seven Islands and caught Japanese seabream, striped beakfish, and parrotfish. Compared to glass or carbon rods, bamboo rods have the natural flexibility and resilience of bamboo, and can withstand considerable pulling force. Each time it was used, it was rinsed with fresh water, and camellia oil was applied. There is almost no rust on the line guides and reel fittings, as shown in the photos. Although more than 30 years have passed since it was purchased, it is well-made and I believe it can still be used. You can also enjoy it as a bamboo craft.
