This is a charm from Sensho-ji Temple in Kashiba City, Nara Prefecture. This temple is famous for its weeping cherry blossoms, and it was recently featured on television. They are said to be Edo Higan weeping cherry trees. The trees are about two hundred years old. The color is a deep pink when they are about half in bloom, and it fades as they approach full bloom. There are people who look forward to these weeping cherry blossoms every year. The chief priest hopes that people will encounter the faith of the Nenbutsu through these weeping cherry blossoms, and he takes care of the cherry trees every year so that people can enjoy them. This is a goshuin (temple stamp) I received from such a temple.
