The GS 124's origins stem from several days spent with a guitarist who used two Dumble ODS amplifiers. The desire to reproduce that sound in a pedal led to its development. For the actual development, a Dumble ODS amplifier with serial number #124 was used to develop a precise clone. Blind switching tests were conducted to make it indistinguishable from the amplifier. The resulting GS 124, unlike typical Dumble-style overdrives, is a pedal that faithfully reproduces the sound of the ODS #124 amplifier. With no unnecessary controls, it offers simple operation and a feel that matches the amp's tone. It pairs especially well with blackface clean amps, but that's just the starting point.
