Made of safe silicone, also used for baby bottle nipples, they are heat-resistant (up to 190°C) and cold-resistant (down to -40°C), so they can withstand the freezer and hot water baths. They are also highly light-resistant, so they won't deteriorate like regular rubber bands even after long use. Do you often find that rubber bands disappear without you noticing, or that you throw them away as soon as you no longer need them? We designed these to be more endearing than disposable rubber bands, which are convenient but often discarded. Animal Rubber Bands were first unveiled in the summer of 2002 at "NYGF/accent on design" in New York, and the first order was from the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
