As the baby grows, you can remove the elastic and wear them like half pants. You can wear it for a longer time by removing the shoulder pleats. The sewing machine uses a loose stitch for easy unraveling. The jacket ties with four strings. The hakama pants have elastic in the waist and hem. The elastic can be replaced.
