(DANTO), Awaji Island Approximately 15.4cm x 15.4cm Purchased in Taiwan Although there is no company name stamped on the back, it was manufactured around 1935. It seems that items without a stamp at that time were tax-exempt. In the past, in countries like China, Taiwan, and India, tiles were more expensive than the land they covered, and were considered a symbol of wealth, used to decorate the exteriors of houses and furniture. This tile was collected from an old vacant house. In addition, for something approximately 90 years old, it is in quite good condition with some wear but no noticeable chips.
