This is a popular HORIZON type guitar, used by SUGIZO of Luna Sea X JAPAN, etc. It is a used Grass Roots G-HR-55FX, an entry-level brand of ESP. Despite being an entry-level brand, it uses alder for the body and maple for the neck. The neck joint is set-neck, but the heel-less processing achieves a shape and playability similar to a through-neck. The body color is matte black, and the headstock and neck have binding, giving it a luxurious and rock-inspired appearance. The bridge is a string-through-body hardtail, providing tuning stability and string tension, as well as good maintainability. Also, because the string vibrations are directly transmitted to the body, a solid and core sound is obtained. In particular, the sound when distorted becomes more dynamic and powerful. The pickups are two humbuckers. The controls are a simple configuration of 1 volume, 1 tone, and a pickup selector, but by pulling up the volume knob, the humbuckers go into coil-split mode. You can create a wide range of sounds, from heavy rock sounds to delicate and clear sounds. There is no warping in the neck. The truss rod has not been touched since I acquired it. The maintenance status of the previous owner is unknown. There is no significant fret wear.
