I am selling one bamboo cane craft made from rare natural Hoteichiku (bamboo with a pouch-like node) and Kikkochiku (tortoiseshell bamboo). I am selling it at a bargain price to clear out inventory. Normally, it is sold for 14,000 yen to 18,000 yen. The production period is about one year. The process involves harvesting the bamboo around November, removing dirt, and then about two months later, lightly wiping off the surface oil with a roasting process. After the roasted bamboo cools, it is polished regularly with rice bran for about 10 months. Finally, it is polished for about 10 minutes with rice bran as a finishing touch. Usually, it is polished with rice bran for about 3 minutes. During that time, it is also naturally dried. During that time, the moisture naturally evaporates, making it lighter than when it was first made. The roasting process creates a unique burn pattern. Please note that the burn patterns are all different. Since Hoteichiku and Kikkochiku are all one-of-a-kind items, there are no identical node patterns or burn patterns.
