It is a gorgeous and splendid woven fabric that uses a variety of colored threads on a twill weave base to create patterns like embroidery. In the past, it was used for the costumes of limited people such as the Shogun and Noh costumes, and even today, the overgarments of female roles in Noh are magnificent Karahori. The supple obi fabric is a pale silver color. Auspicious Yuusai Kamon is intricately woven with threads of pink, wisteria, white mouse color, white, and pale yellow. The auspicious patterns that appear three-dimensionally on the light-colored background make for a wonderful obi.
