British Army Surplus A bag for storing the Mk.VII gas mask, issued to the British Army during the 1940s, the Second World War era. Made of cotton canvas fabric with a shoulder belt. The interior has 5 compartments and a small pocket for storing canisters and other equipment. There are strings and disc-shaped locks on both sides to secure the bag to the legs or body. Two mesh holes for drainage on the bottom. Mk.VI bags with 6 eyelets on the bottom are sold as the Indiana Jones model, but the bag used in the Indiana Jones movies is the Mk.7 bag with 2 mesh holes. Immediately after the introduction of the Mk.VII, Mk.7 stamps were used on Mk.VI bags, so Mk.7 stamps with 6 eyelets also exist, but those looking for the Indiana Jones model should be careful not to make a mistake. 1942 Made by Whiteley's Equipment and Supply Ltd. Deadstock, unused item. There are creases and stains on the back due to being stored in a warehouse, but it is an item from that time. The stamp is slightly faded, but the manufacturer's name, VII, 1942, and the broad arrow are legible. We have confirmed two patterns of manufacturer's markings: W.E.&S.LTD. and Whiteley's.
