This is a chain for hanging pendant lights and chandeliers, purchased in France about 15 years ago. The price is for a length of 1 meter. It is likely steel with a brass plate. (I have previously changed the color to bronze using a blackening solution.) This design of chain is sometimes seen on European chandelier chains, but it is not often found as a material in Japan.
