Glaze and Texture: It features an opaque, milky white glaze applied thickly with feldspar glaze (choseki-yu), and the reddish-brown "hiiro" (fire color) seen in places due to the firing process adds to its flavor. Painting: The painting is done with iron pigment (onita), and the simple patterns of plants and flowers that can be seen through the glaze are characteristic.
