There is a slight scratch on the scabbard, but it is not noticeable. The construction is solid, so it can be used without any problems for iaido practice and performances. The tsuba is also thick and has some weight, so it should be good training for suburi and kata practice. This is a beautiful sword with a double hamon and a Wakasa vermilion-lacquered scabbard.
