There are no particularly noticeable stains. The actual color is closer to the shade in the 3rd to 5th photos, but a bit darker. The hood is not removable. It's a thin jacket, but it's warm and light, so it doesn't make your shoulders stiff. It doesn't take up much space when stored, and I think it would be useful for travel as well.
