These are trousers from PAKEMAN CATTO & CARTER, which closed its doors in 2017 after a history of over 150 years. Pakeman Catto & Carter was a long-established "local" haberdashery that, despite being located in Cirencester in western England, was beloved by London's upper class and country gentlemen. Since its founding in 1863, it had proposed the traditional British "country" style. In true British gentlemanly fashion, it was "modest in appearance / high quality in construction," and continued to make honest products with a craftsman's spirit rather than mass production. However, after a period of financial difficulties from the year 2000, it suddenly ceased operations in 2017, closing its long history. (CORDINGS was saved by a patron named Eric Clapton, but unfortunately, Pakeman went out of business. As shown in photo 13, CORDINGS' website issued a statement asking for the transfer of customers.)
