You can use it for serving salads or fruits, or simply display it as is. I couldn't quite get the hang of using it, and after displaying it for a short while, I put it away. Therefore, it's in generally good condition, but there are small scratches, minor scuffs, and color unevenness on the surface, as it was when I purchased it.
