This is a brand new, unsewn obi (sash) made with Kyo-kinsai-yuzen (Kyoto gold-colored yuzen) by Mr. Masao Wada, the son of the late Mitsumasa Wada, a master craftsman of Kyoto and a leading figure in Kyo-kinsai-yuzen, who inherited the traditional techniques. It is a beautiful obi with a design of floral arabesque patterns in silver against a background of varying shades of purple. This is a point pattern type. It can be used for all formal occasions, from tomesode (formal black kimono with crests) to iromuji (single-colored kimono). The color of the silver accents changes depending on how the light hits it.
