In the Qin dynasty during the Warring States period, a young war orphan named Xin (Shin), who aspires to become a great general, has a fateful encounter with Ying Zheng (Ei Sei), the young king who was driven from the throne by his younger brother's coup. Xin, along with Karyoten and the mountain king Yotanwa, succeeds in helping Ying Zheng reclaim the throne. Six months later, the neighboring state of Wei begins its invasion of Qin. Under the command of King Ying Zheng, Qin raises an army on the Dakkan Plain. Xin, who goes to the battlefield as an infantryman, forms the weakest unit (a group of five) with the O brothers from his hometown, the unreliable corporal Takei, and the mysterious character Kyokai, who has a childlike appearance and sad eyes. While being forced into a disadvantageous position as the Wei army occupies a strategically advantageous hill, Bakukoshin, who commands the unit to which Xin is assigned, issues a seemingly reckless attack order. The cast includes Kento Yamazaki as Xin, Ryo Yoshizawa as Ying Zheng, and Kanna Hashimoto as Karyoten, along with the returning members from the previous film. Nana Seino joins the cast as Kyokai, a popular character from the original manga. Director Shinsuke Sato returns to direct the film, following the previous installment.
