Purchased at the Ryumura Bijutsu Orimono Kyobashi showroom. These silver Sounji Bundaire-gire zori (sandals) are very rare. They have only been worn around the hotel garden and have been stored at home. There are no smokers or pets in my household. Shoe size is approximately 22-23cm. Pattern Description: Sounji Bundaire-gire The Sounji Temple in Hakone has treasures including a bundai (writing desk) and a suzuri-bako (inkstone box), which were the beloved items of Sogi, a leading figure in classical studies and renga (linked verse) during the Muromachi period. The original fabric of this textile was used to cover the bundai and suzuri-bako. It is a silver brocade fabric with a silver foil ground, and woven with green, reddish-brown, and pale red threads to depict a pattern of fringed pinks and other flowers in a scrolling vine design. This was woven with modern techniques while preserving the exquisite balance of the fabric's refined elegance and luxuriousness.
