A basket made from the willow plant known as Kori-yanagi (Salix koriyanagi). It was often used in Yanagi-kori (willow luggage). Production ceased about 20 years ago, but was revived about 5 years ago. Obtaining the natural materials is difficult, and production has restarted with growers cultivating the willow. It requires a lot of work, starting from material cultivation to basket making. This basket was purchased over 20 years ago, so it was made using materials from nature, not cultivation. The outer bark is woven as is. Therefore, the texture and strength of the Kori-yanagi craftsmanship are utilized, giving it a unique charm. Also, the 50cm wide and supple curved handle, due to its size, allows you to fully appreciate the charm of the Kori-yanagi basket.
