This item is from the pre-war era when I ran a lacquerware shop. It is new and unused, but the lid was wrapped in a newspaper from 1934 (Showa 9). It has been stored for a long time. It is a black lacquerware mizusashi (water pitcher) with gold trim. I am unsure whether it is Wajima-nuri or Echizen lacquerware, but I had dealings with both areas.
