Today, we'd like to introduce the "LINE6 POD HD500X," which we purchased at our Encore store. The "LINE6 POD HD500X" was released in 2013 and was the flagship model of the POD family at the time. It enhanced the performance of its predecessor, the HD500, and featured HD amp modeling that provides realistic tone and feel, along with over 100 effects derived from the M series. With a significant improvement in processing power (DSP), it became possible to use up to 8 effects simultaneously and create sounds using complex dual-signal paths. It also features a design intended for stage use, with a sturdy metal chassis, highly visible LED-lit footswitches, and a 48-second looper. By assigning multiple parameters to the expression pedal, you can change the sound in real-time, enabling flexible performance. In addition, it has abundant I/O and an audio interface function via USB connection, supporting a wide range of applications from live performances to high-quality home recording. However, production of the HD500X was discontinued in 2021. Since then, LINE6's modeling technology has greatly evolved, and the current main product line has shifted to the Helix family. The role of the HD500X's multi-functional floorboard has been taken over by the Helix, which features more advanced HX modeling, the Helix LT, which has selected features, or the POD Go, which offers the latest tones at an affordable price. The HD500X was a legendary machine that built an era, but the Helix family is now leading the market as its successor.
